Station 1: Suan Ta Kan Sandbox & Baan Suan Ta Kan

Welcome! Let’s explore the garden together. This area serves as our "Sandbox”an experimental plot where we blend ancient horticultural techniques with modern durian farming concepts.

We arrange our trees according to traditional wisdom while experimenting with microbes and bio-substances. This helps our durians thrive even under the pressure of today’s volatile climate. You will also notice the Thong Lang (Coral Tree), a signature of Nonthaburi gardens. As a legume, it provides essential moisture, shade, and a rich habitat for beneficial microbes, which ultimately enhances the unique, premium flavor of Nonthaburi durians.

Station 2: Durian cottage

This house is a tribute to history. It was built in 2012 using wood from durian trees that were approximately 45 years old, harvested after a major flood caused them to perish.

The structure is crafted from over 10 different durian varieties. Today, it stands as a memorial to the lush abundance of the durian orchards from the generations before us.

Station 3: The Durian Nursery

This is the heart of our propagation efforts, where we breed durian trees that are shipped across Thailand. We currently house over 40 varieties, including many rare and fascinating ones.

Each variety you see here originated in Nonthaburi or Bangkok. Everyone has their own distinct characteristics, which we will see more of as we move deeper into the garden.

Station 4: Raised‑Bed Gardening (Yok‑Rong)

(Note: You can scan the signs for more detailed information.) What you see here is the "Yok Rong" style, the traditional layout of Nonthaburi orchards. These raised beds and ditches are designed to store water and maintain high humidity levels, creating the perfect microclimate for durians to flourish.

Station 5: The Heritage Variety – "Cho-ra-kae"

This is one of the unique varieties named after an animal. It is called "Chorakae" because its mature thorns resemble the scales on a crocodile’s back resemblance that becomes even more striking if the fruit happens to fall into the water! It produces large fruits with abundant flesh and has a long harvest window.

Station 6: The Kan Yao Group – "Chom-phu-Phan"

Finally, The Chomphu PhanPart of the premium Kan Yaogroup, it is known for its elegant shape, long stem, and sharp thorns. The flesh is incredibly fine textured with a mild, delicate aroma. It is believed to have been originally cultivated from a Kan Yao seed.
